Gran Canaria loses 11% occupancy of their apartments
The target loses nearly 5% of their overnight stays.
We see good data these days of tourism in Spain in general and in the Canary Islands in particular, but these general data does not mean that all the data are good. “Joy is on neighborhoods.”
If we analyze the data of nights instead of number of visitors, we see that the numbers of Gran Canaria are bad.
If we delve a little deeper into the data, we see that the typology that has suffered this decline is the Apartment, and overnight stays in hotels are maintained in recent years.
If we analyze only the apartments, we find a decrease of over 11% in two years, which are very bad odds.
Why we say that joy goes neighborhoods. In the apartment sector, this has not been as bad as 2012, but 2013 has been a bad year.
